This rot runs so deep we will probably never get to the bottom of it, but kudo's to Lee Fang for taking on the challenge. Epstein's many victims deserve justice so please keep digging Lee.

If only our society had deep pocketed organizations with global reach and contacts that could look deep into a major issue like this even half as thoroughly as you do.

We could label it like, I dunno, the Fourth Estate or something… and create laws that give it lots of freedom to investigate.

Eh… sounds like a pipe dream. Wonder what the Kardashians are up to.

Dig Lee Dig!! The govt was supposed to release the Epstein files but I’ve yet to see much yet compared to the fanfare they touted about. I hope you bring down Stacy Plaskett as she grandstanded during some congressional questioning. Everyone needs to be brought out in the light if they had anything to do with this scumbag. Watch your six as I will almost guarantee this involves the Clintons. This goes deep into society which is why Epstein committed “suicide”. Prayers for your safety and Godspeed with you reporting.

Epstein "commits suicide": dead men tell no tales. Bill Gates gloated about this on PBS!

Records are disappeared. Prosecutors are fired. Amazing how sex crimes involving minors can go unprosecuted--even largely uninvestigated--when powerful people are involved.

What a sordid tale!

Did Denise George ever fight back on her firing? Has she done any interviews, or not willing? Any way of getting ahold of what JP Morgan came up with that scared them all so much? Oh, to be a fly on a wall!

I used to deal with a different island US territory that seemed pretty corrupt to me. The Virgin Islands sounds worse.

I wondered from the very first time I heard of Epstein where he got his millions of dollars. He owned a multi-million dollar townhouse in New York but there was never indication of where he earned his money. I figured drugs but never trafficking young girls to some of the most famous names in america.

Wow. Another great piece. Thanks Lee.

I was just trying to summarize the article for my wife. Her response was "I'm sure all of that stuff has already been looked into!" But like @diddy pointed out, those with the resources to more easily do this haven't. Laziness (at best), or for some other reasons (many of which are worse).

@leefang - today I upgraded to annual. Is there a way to add "extra" - for this or similar projects?

Who's the French muck-a-muck arrested for sex business, last name starts with a B maybe, he was in a French jail and, lo, guess what, he committed suicide. After reading both volumes of One Nation Under Blackmail and The Devil's Chessboard (and a few others about global security agencies) I'm going back to reread and compile a list of bizarre suicides, unresolved deaths and disappearances. Whitney Webb maybe should write a book entitled One World Under Blackmail.

Thanks for the book tip - just ordered volume one of One Nation Under Blackmail. The Devil's Chessboard is amazing - and infuriating.

Two things really stood out for me in this article: " The documents I eventually obtained include the check above from Erika A. Kellerhals, the Epstein attorney who previously employed Del. Stacey Plaskett, to Gov. Bryan's 2018 political campaign. . . What is clear, however, is that an attorney who worked to protect Epstein's estate is now the chief law enforcement officer of the U.S. Virgin Islands."

Learning that "some records (on donations to local politicians) are kept at an office in a shopping mall in St. Croix, while other documents are stored at another government office in St. Thomas" somehow isn't even surprising. What a colossal pile of excrement you've uncovered there, Lee. Now we know why Epstein loved his little island getaway. He had enough money to pay local officials to turn a blind eye to the underage girls hanging out with all those famous men.

I'd still love to know which spy agencies were working with Epstein.

Great reporting, Lee!

is it true that U.S. House of Representatives Delegate Stacey E. Plaskett worked for Epstein's law firm?

You’re a great writer because you give us solid facts. We know you’re liberal but you’re smart enough to keep it to yourself.

Leighton Woodhouse is the opposite, which I why I can’t renew my subscription.
