The spirit of transparency lives in the black hole of doublethink and pretzel logic. Actual transparency is no where to be found!

Great article!!

Hey NED, if you have to keep what you do secret maybe you shouldn't be doing it.

I really have to admire their mastery of Orwellian word play, in which they argue that concealing information somehow retains "the spirit of transparency."

Excellent work, Lee & Jack!

How about they save the taxpayers $356 million dollars and cancel the whole damn thing?

How is it that NED funding wasn't discontinued by DOGE? One would think it would be high on the list of cuts, unless the Congressional appropriations are somehow immune.

All DOGE did was make recommendations.

It would be up to Rubio to end NED.

Congress will have to codify the DOGE recommendations, which they'll probably never get around to doing.

Well, well, well. . .

What about the International Republican Institute?

Are they doing the same thing?

Was Navalny funded by NED? Are did the CIA pay for his Yale education (aka "grooming" to replace Putin once regime change was complete) and comfortable lifestyle in the U.S. and Europe?

Every time I see lowdown behavior from our political elites, they manage to undercut it even more. Pernicious for them and disastrous for us, not to mention dangerous. We need publicly funded elections to co-opt the corrupted politicians now in office. Is anyone persuaded?

If NED recipients are being targeted and killed by the Taliban… then show those threats/actions against them.

There is nothing to hide no trade secrets will be revealed, the Taliban already know these targets since they’re doing the targeting.

If it can't be open for all to see because the recipients' names may be found out - too bad, don't fund them at all and stop risking recipient lives altogether.

Reading these accounts…….i become more and more depressed……. How to think about those publications? — “dispensing money to anti-communist forces behind the Iron Curtain and funding dissident media known as ‘samizdat’”.
